The Wayland bowling teams enjoyed the excitement of the Cat's Den tonight. Thank you for your school spirit and getting us pumped up! Mr. Taylor walked in and got a standing ovation! I think the seniors approved of the snow day today!
We had a good game plan for the evening and it just fell short in the 9th and 10th frame of the last game.
We wanted to get ahead in the first two Baker games and we did. We rolled games of 172 and 211 which don't even compare to our dismal performance on Monday. We found ourselves up 6-4.
We expected Zeeland would come back in a fury and they did. They took 8 of the 9 next points. Leading the Wildcates were Joe Laidler with a fine 198 game and Dillon Smith with a 215 high game of the evening. We were okay and still very much in the match.
We figured that we would come back as we have come back in match two all season. We were within just 30 pins in the eighth frame, but then our bottom fell out. Dillon Smith led our team with a 194 game.
I am very proud of the boys performance tonight and the opposing coach even commented on how much we have improved. He said we had him scared tonight. We were 200 pins better in match one compared to Monday night. The final score of Zeeland 23 and Wayland 7 was much closer than it appears.
The varsity ladies appear to have lost as well.
