The first event of the season was a challenge for both Wayland boys and girls today.

Our bowlers are actively involved in "life". We lost nearly half of our bowlers today to Regional Honors Choir, Debate, left knee injury, and work (the bosses were on vacation), et cetera.

Our boys finished 12th out of 16 teams. We have an experienced team this year and I was looking forward to the first competition. Hopefully, their "life" duties outside of bowling will subside as our season begins. The season will come down to how much time we have put in during the off months. A special thank you to Brad from Grand Rapids Christian for filling in for us today so we could field a full team!

The girls started out with some expected jitters as we fielded basically a fresh team this year. The ladies have only one returning starter and two who saw part-time varsity experience last year. We are a very young team and they are showing good form for beginners. We will only gain experience and knowledge. In time, we will prove to be competitive again.
