For the last home match of the season, the Wayland Wildcats hosted the Sparta Spartans on Tuesday night.  First singles saw the return of Christian Sieffert for his last home match as a Wildcat.  Christian had to shake off some rust, and found a good rhythm in the first set but ultimately fell in the second set with a final score of 5-7, 0-6.  2nd Singles also saw the return of Jackson Chesley after an illness.  Jackson was able to take down his opponent 6-3, 6-1 in a well played match.  At 3rd singles, Andrew Murphy played an evenly skilled opponent and took the match 7-5, 7-6, one of the shortest matches of his career at 1 1/2 hours.  Nolan Ritz escaped at 4th singles as Sparta had to forfeit the flight.  In the doubles flights, Elijah Kincaid and Brady Atwell were successful at 1st singles in Brady Atwell's last home match as a Wildcat.  Elijah and Brady played well in the first set, then had to fight off the Spartans in the second set, taking the match 6-3, 7-6.  The Freshman duo of Cam Seiffert and Theo Oddy took the Spartans handily, 6-3, 6-1.  The newly formed team of Carson Beck and Austin Graham proved successful at 3rd doubles, winning 6-1, 6-0.  At 4th doubles, the new team of Chase Robinson and Andrew Hinds found tough competitors and lost 2-6, 1-6.  

As the season winds down, the Wildcats travel to the Division 3 Regional at the Gainey Athletic Complex on Wednesday, 10/6 for a challenging day of tennis to round out the season.
